bat biodiversity partnership - Projects

The Partnership works in tobacco-growing and mixed agricultural landscapes, as well as the wider ecosystems on which they depend, to address biodiversity and ecosystem impacts.

The Partnership programme included two main types of projects: Operational and Aligned projects. Some were developed jointly between the NGO Partners and British American Tobacco leaf growing companies to address biodiversity and ecosystem services on which leaf operations impact or depend. These help the company to continue to embed principles of good biodiversity management into its business. Other projects were designed to meet the conservation and biodiversity management objectives of the NGO Partners themselves.

Current projects

Projects during term 3 of the Partnership were designed to address biodiversity and ecosystem services on which British American Tobacco’s leaf operations impact or depend, and to support individual NGO Partners’ own conservation activities.
